About Healing Harmonies
Healing Harmonies provides students of Anne Arundel County Public Schools an opportunity to showcase their musical talents at local nursing homes and medical facilities.
Our goal is to spread the joy and healing properties of music to our community. We aim to reduce stress and anxiety and increase the mood of patients.
Every month, we have a session at a local medical facility. So far, our locations have included Autumn Lake Healthcare at Crofton, Autumn Lake Healthcare at Baltimore Washington, Autumn Lake Healthcare at Spa Creek, and The Celebration Villa of Manresa.
About Me
My name is Sarena Reddy and I am currently a senior at Crofton High School. I started Healing Harmonies as a sophomore, and have continued to volunteer and conduct research on the therapeutic benefits of music. I started playing piano when I was 5 years old and it has always been an outlet for my creative expression. I was inspired to start this project because of my love for music and wanting to bring the healing properties of music to others. Outside of this project, I participate in varsity tennis. I also enjoy volunteering my time helping children through GiGi’s Playhouse Annapolis and teaching Tae Kwon Do at Vuong’s Martial Arts where I earned my Black Belt.
